We're recruiting for a Complaints Officer and two new members for our Readers' Advisory Panel.
The role will include investigating complaints, drafting rulings and mediating between complainants and publications where appropriate. The successful candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, having achieved at least a 2:1 degree (or having been educated to an equivalent standard). An intelligent interest in the press and its self-regulation is essential and experience of handling complaints, preparing analysis of complex information, or dealing sensitively with members of the public in a professional capacity would be an advantage.
IPSO is inviting applications from members of the public who read newspapers and magazines and who have an interest in how they are regulated.
The panel – which will meet three times a year - will give readers the opportunity to share their views on media issues and IPSO’s work to maintain standards in newspapers, magazines and news websites. Panel members will be paid £200 per meeting.
