Mehmuda Mian announced as new Board member

The Independent Press Standards Organisation (IPSO) has announced a new Board member. Mehmuda Mian, a former solicitor with a significant non-executive experience, including as a trustee on the BBC Trust and a commissioner on the Independent Police Complaints Committee, will join the Board with immediate effect.

 

Ms Mian was appointed in an open and transparent competition by the independent IPSO Appointments Panel, chaired by Sir Hayden Phillips.  She replaces Dame Clare Tickell, who stepped down from the Board having been appointed at Chair of the Early Intervention Foundation.
