We are looking for three lay members and one editorial member to join the Complaints Committee.
Applicants should have an interest in press regulation and the process of balancing freedom of expression with other rights of individuals, but need not have any specialist knowledge of this area. IPSO is seeking individuals from a broad range of backgrounds to complement the experience and perspectives currently represented within the Committee.
Candidates for the lay roles should have no connection to current or potential IPSO member publishers.
Candidates for the editorial role should have recent senior experience in a national “broadsheet” newspaper, but not be a serving editor at a current or potential IPSO member publisher.
All Committee members, whether lay or editorial, participate as individuals and not as representatives of organisations or interests.
