IPSO has appointed Geraldine Allinson, Director of Iliffe Media, as a member of its Appointments Panel.
The Appointments Panel’s role is to appoint IPSO’s Chairman and Board and the independent members of the Editors’ Code of Practice Committee. It is chaired by Sir Hayden Phillips, former Civil Servant and Independent Reviewer at the ASA.
Geraldine has worked within the news media industry at board level for most of her career. For 13 years she was executive Chairman of the KM Media Group, and in October 2019 her role within the group changed to director for Iliffe Media Group Ltd (the parent company of KM).
She is a director of the News Media Association representing local news media at national level and is also a non-executive director of PA Media Group.
Geraldine replaces Adrian Jeakings, former president of the Newspaper Society and Chairman of the News Media Association.
